Modernmob is an upcoming movie that is being written and produced by the Colombo crime family. The film, which will be released in April, follows a woman who tries to escape her violent home life and joins the mob. One of the main characters is Rachel Brosnahan, who plays a member of the Genovese crime family. This is the first time that a female member of the mob will be featured in a film since the infamous Bonnie and Clyde.
Colombo crime family
The Colombo crime family is one of the most powerful and famous New York mobs. It traces its roots to Joseph Profaci, a Sicilian emigrant who moved to the United States in 1921. He rose through the ranks of the Mafia and ruled the Colombos for nearly 30 years.
In the mid-1990s, the Colombos enacted an extortion scheme targeting a unnamed labor union. Their activities were overseen by a Colombo consigliere. They were accused of using violence to extort money and other payments.
“Big Anthony” Russo was a soldier in the Colombos and named five other mob families in New York. These names were subsequently used by law enforcement, and they were the basis for the names of some of the families.
Dino “Little Dino” Saracino was born in 1972 in Sicily. After his birth, he relocated to Bensonhurst, Brooklyn. At that time, he was loyal to Carmine J. (“The Snake”) Persico, the reputed boss of the Colombos.
Genovese mob boss Liborio Bellomo
Liborio Bellomo is the current street boss of the Genovese crime family. He was named acting boss after the death of Vincent Gigante in 2005.
The Genovese family has a history of placing top capos in leadership positions. They also have a number of active captains. These family members can often act as front-bosses in order to protect themselves from law enforcement investigations.
Bellomo rose in the family quickly. When Vincent Gigante died in December of 2005, Bellomo was named as acting boss. In 2006, he was sentenced with thirty other Genovese family members. After serving twelve years in prison, he was paroled in 2008.
Bellomo has a long history with the Genovese Family. His father was a soldier in the family. He had a close relationship with Fat Tony Salerno. Liborio “Barney” Bellomo was initiated into the family in 1977.
Bellomo was also convicted on racketeering charges, and he was given a 10-year sentence. Liborio Bellomo’s father, Salvatore, was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

I’m Your Woman is a fun film to watch. The likes of Frankie Faison, Arinze Kene, Marsha Stephanie Blake and James McMennamin star in this 1970s crime flick. Although the story arc is a little over the top, it’s still fun to see. For one, you get to see a lot of neo-noir schmoozes. Not to mention that the cast is pretty tight. That’s a plus in a crowded theater. It’s also a great excuse to catch up with friends and neighbors. Probably the best part is that the movie is free! Despite its cheesy title, it’s a great excuse to unwind. Especially in the company of a good bottle of wine. A must watch for fans of the genre.
The movie is a tad long winded at times, but it’s definitely worth the wait. The ensemble is a joy to watch, and the plot is just as enjoyable.

It’s rare to see a female lead in a crime drama, especially one that’s also a woman. Even when they are given a few scenes, the women in these films usually get little to no screen time. That’s why it’s such a surprise to see Rachel Brosnahan playing Jean in I’m Your Woman. She doesn’t come off as a victim or a villain, but as an irritable cipher. Her performance makes the journey that she’s on feel real.
