One of the most popular protective styles that women love is freetress water wave hair for butterfly locs. This hair style is extremely easy to do, and is also relatively DIY-friendly. Water wave hair can be braided and wrapped to create a butterfly loc. You can use a crochet needle to insert the water wave hair at the root of your natural braid. Once the water wave hair is inserted, fluff it out with your fingers for a natural, airy look.

Toyotress makes a twelve-inch pack that is perfect for shoulder-length locs, while Janet Collection offers a 24-inch set that is great for butt-length looks. As with any protective style, you’ll want to be sure to protect your locs with a bonnet or scarf. In addition to a bonnet, you’ll also want to invest in a satin pillowcase to protect your style and prevent premature removal of locs.

After you’ve braided the freetress water wave hair for butterfly locs, you’ll need to apply a protective product to the ends. Butterfly locs are known for being protective and beautiful. To make them look as natural as possible, wrap the freetress water wave hair around your thumb several times. The more loops you can wrap around your thumb, the fluffier your locs will be. Depending on your preferred style, you may want to use nail glue to secure the hair.

After a few months, you can use your butterfly locs. A good quality butterfly loc will last for up to two to three months. To extend its life, refresh the locs after washing, conditioning, and drying. Then, apply shine n jam to the roots and secure it with a comb. You may also want to use mousse. It’s best to repeat these steps at least once every two months to maintain the look and feel of your butterfly locs.
