There are several differences between a short bed and a standard-length bed. While short-bed trucks fit better in tight spaces, they are also more practical for everyday use. The GMC Sierra 1500 Crew Cab is available only in a short-box configuration. For more information, read on to discover the main differences between the two types of beds. The GMC Sierra 1500 Crew Cab is the only truck in the GMC lineup available in short-bed configuration.

Depending on the model and brand, the short-bed truck may not be a good option for you. The short-bed variety, which generally measure five to six feet, is typically found on midsize trucks. They are usually paired with full-length cabs, which include a full four-door cab. This eliminates the half-door found in a long-bed model. The standard-length bed, on the other hand, has a longer wheelbase.

While a short-bed model typically measures about five feet in length, the standard-length model is perfect for everyday use and occasional hauling. In contrast, a long-bed model is eight feet long, which is the preferred length for a work truck. Fortunately, the long-bed Ford F150 comes in many styles. Its a great option if you are looking for a truck that can fit in a small space.

For most truck buyers, the standard-length bed is the perfect size. The standard-length bed gives plenty of room for a variety of cargo without the downsides of a long-bed. However, if you want to haul long cargo, you might need a long bed. Standard-length beds are typically six feet long on Ford and Toyota trucks, while the Titan’s standard bed is 66 inches long. Likewise, the standard-length beds on Chevy pickups are unstandard at 6.6 feet.
