You will be regarded as disqualified if you have two felony convictions and if you have one felony conviction and more than two disorderly persons convictions. Furthermore, you will be regarded as disqualified if your conviction is due to the sale, or distribution of a dangerous substance like drugs, firearms, etc. The only exception is for 25g. of weed. If you have more than three disorderly or petty disorderly person convictions, you will be disqualified. An expungement tool will help you to clear your records and help you start afresh.

Furthermore, certain felonies are pretty logical and not eligible for expungement. These offenses are:

    • Criminal homicide
    • Kidnaping
    • Luring
    • Sexual assault
    • Threatening the safety of a child
    • False imprisonment
    • To rob a person or entity
    • And many more

Apart from these, any other felony has the potential of sealing itself if you wait for the prescribed time.

There is one more waiting period; it is when you have an ordinance violation. It happens in contemplation with some conditional discharge.

    How can expungement help you?

Expungement will help you as it will clear your past felony records. Records can hamper your prospects of a career in many ways.

If you want to get into a new job or get promoted, your employers will run a background check. During that time, any evidence of a felony might ruin all your good chances of getting the desired job or career building.

Similarly, when applying for a college or university, the authority of that place will not allow you to get into the institution if you have a bad track record. The institutions are very specific about their image, and for anyone with a criminal record, getting in might make the other candidate think that they will be threatened by your presence.

Furthermore, if you want to expand your family and adopt or foster children, with a bad track record, things will turn out wrong. The people who are liable for the fostering and adoption will scrutinize your track record, and any conviction will be a red mark on your image. Thus, the chance will go down to get the authority of the kids. Thus, clearing your track records is very important and will help you in every aspect of your life.
